Since the fall of Eidolon and Praveus the people of Thyrion have been struggling to rebuild their lives and eke a living out of the ravaged land.

After Praveus was defeated the minions that he controlled were destroyed. However, because the Souls of the Serpent Riders were released at his death many monsters still live, supported by their last remaining vestiges of power.

These remaining monsters terrorize the survivors of Thyrion, attacking viciously then retreating to unknown lairs, many warriors and mages have tried to find these lairs but only a few succeed, and those that do hardly ever come back. In order to protect themselves against the attacks people have grouped together for mutual protection, often in long since abandoned cities, towns and castles.

One of the most prosperous of these gatherings is Ravenhurst. A large city nestled in towering mountaintops. With large strong stone walls, guard towers and a well-trained army it faired relatively well against the invasion of Eidolon and after the bitter cold of Praveus' magical winter. Now it has become a haven for humanity in these still troubled times, offering a place where people can work, trade and live, in relative safety.

Our tale begins with you, the Crusader, one of the four great heroes of Thyrion. Having saved Thyrion from the diabolical ambitions of Praveus you returned to your monastery in Blackmarsh to live and study in peace.

One evening while studying ancient portents you were startled by the sound of banging upon your monastery doors, fearing an attack you grab your warhammer and head for the door, every second anticipating hordes of Golems and Knight Archer's to start crashing through. Suddenly you realize that the sounds of banging are not signals of an attack but someone pounding furiously. When you open it you see a lone man, leaning on the doorframe and gasping for breath.

After giving the man a seat and a goblet of water he's is finally able to speak, though hoarsely. "The city of Ravenhurst is under attack sire, it was a surprise attack, they just came out of nowhere!" the man says, taking another long drink from the goblet of water, "We didn't stand a chance, they just kept on coming. The general ordered a retreat after that, I don't know if anyone else made it out alive."

Before the man finishes his last sentence you pick up your warhammer and cast a spell of summoning to the other four, telling them what has happened. You don't know whether they will be able to get to the city in time to meet you, but with or without them one thing is for sure, that this outbreak of evil must be stopped at all costs. They cannot be allowed to control one of the most heavily fortified cities in Blackmarsh.

Having been to Ravenhurst once before you met the General of the Army there, he showed you there underground barracks, as well as the many secret entrances to it, one of that is accessible outside of the city, this is where you must go.

Now you stand outside the towering walls of the cities, inside you can hear the screams and yells of men and woman still trapped inside. You clutch the handle of your weapon tightly and say a prayer underneath your breath as you step into the secret entrance, ready for anything that awaits you inside the walls of Ravenhurst, the new city of the damned.
